Access Statement

ACCESS STATEMENT

This access statement does not contain personal opinions as to our suitability for those with access needs, but aims to accurately describe the facilities and services available to our visitors.

Introduction

The public Town Walks and Ghost Walks start from the Swan Fountain.  It is a water fountain with 2 silver swans, situated on the edge of the Bancroft Gardens, close to the junction of Waterside and Sheep Street.  It is approximately 100 yards in front of the Royal Shakespeare Theatre.

The Town Walk is a guided walking tour around the streets of Stratford, wheelchair friendly and suitable for everyone. The duration is around 2hrs.  It passes the 3 Shakespeare Town Houses, 15th century timber-framed buildings, Shakespeare’s School, River Avon and includes a visit to Holy Trinity Church.  There is a step into the Church and a ramp is available to allow wheelchair access.

The Town Walk route is wheelchair friendly and the guide will endeavour to use the dropped-kerbs but direct anyone to a nearby dropped kerb if necessary.

Walking boots are not necessary, but comfortable shoes and suitable clothing (appropriate for the weather conditions) is recommended.
