HAPPY BIRTHDAY STRATFORD TOWN WALK

20 years ago on 25 June 2002 Stratford Town Walk introduced the first ever daily Town Walk, followed shortly after by the Ghost Walk. The success of Stratford Town Walk is due to the dedication of each guide who turn out at all times and in all weathers to provide a quality experience for visitors from all over the world – resulting in numerous awards.

To mark the 20th Birthday every Town Walk and Ghost Walk guide is donating all proceeds from their walking tour in and round the week close to 25 June. Monies raised will be donated to the Rigby cancer unit at Stratford Hospital. John and Helen thank their exceptional team of guides, lovely visitors from all over the world and all supporters of Stratford Town Walk.

Christmas Walks 2021

Stratford Town Walk’s popular walking tour is running every day over the Christmas period, including Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day.

Stratford is a magical place at Christmas. See the sights and hear the stories of Stratford’s history through fire, flood & plague, ‘Christmas wrapped’ with old fashioned sayings, medieval medical cures and a little Shakespeare.

The walking tour starts at 11am every day, except for Christmas Day when it starts at 10.30am – back in time for lunch!

Mayor and Mayoress supporting
Stratford Town Walk

Stratford Town Walk is back up and walking (following Covid-19) and to prove it The Mayor, Councillor Tony Jackson and The Mayoress Mandy Jackson were on hand to help get it under way.

Together with a lovely family from Somerset, the Mayor and Mayoress headed off with their guide Barbara to experience a fascinating, entertaining stroll to discover Stratford’s history, fascinating relationship with William Shakespeare and all the town has to offer.

The Mayor said “It was lovely to meet Helen and John and to be there for the re-opening of the Stratford Town Walk. It is wonderful to see the tourists slowly returning to the town and it was a pleasure to meet and welcome the family group from Somerset who had booked the walk. They certainly enjoyed the experience and it was nice to hear such complimentary praise for our historic buildings. Special thanks to Barbara who was our guide for the walk and who had a wealth of knowledge to share”
